Executive Vice President, Member Board of Directors and Member, Symbiotics, a leading hydroelectric development company. Ms. Johnson is responsible for all capital raise activities, the identification and negotiation of joint development agreements and the origination and execution of term power sales agreements.

  • Successful negotiation of two material joint development agreements covering up to 20 projects.

Founded eBartonLLC to focus on opportunities emerging from the Energy Act of 2005. eBartonLLC is a renewable energy finance and transaction structuring company.

It utilizes Ms. Johnson’s extensive supply, off take and risk management expertise to facilitate its ability to arrange long- term sales contracts and capital for emerging renewable companies. Active engagements cover natural gas, hydro as Symbiotics, IGCC coal, alternative biofuels, biodiesel and ethanol. eBarton represents sales of New Generation Biofuels, Inc.’s (GNB: AMEX) emulsified vegetable oil to the power industry.

eBartonLLC has negotiated and executed 10+ year full requirements off takes, PPAs and QF contracts for its clients. The company has partnered with other renewables LLCs focused on specific areas such as biodiesel and coal.

2002-2005
Tyr Energy, Inc., Overland Park, KS - Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founded Tyr Energy to provide comprehensive management services to financial owners of electric generation. Raised significant equity from ITOCHU International, Inc. in June 2004.

Directed the development and execution of the commercial aspects of Tyr Energy’s business. Key accomplishments during this period included:

  • Provision of asset management, commercial services and oversight of 4300 MW.
  • Oversight of $60 million of construction completion for 2400 MW
  • Raised a fund with committed capital for minority investments in Tyr managed assets
  • Acquisition of a minority equity position in a 640 MW plant in the Northern Illinois Hub (NI Hub) portion of PJM
  • Active engagements in acquisition processes and due diligence support

Tyr Energy is an asset management firm which manages in excess of $3.5 billion in energy assets. Tyr Energy’s affiliate, Tyr Capital LLC, has acquired and manages power generation assets and has an enterprise value of $800million. Ms. Johnson sold her interest on the company in 2005. III purchased the balance of the company from the other co-founder in 2006.

Aquila Merchant Services, Inc., Kansas City, MO - Executive Vice President created and developed energy joint ventures, partnerships and other similar arrangements throughout North America. Instrumental in Aquila’s $180 million natural gas storage asset sale to Scottish Power affiliate, PacifiCorp Power Marketing.

Principal contributor to EBIT growth from Aquila’s most significant client relationships. Grew EBIT from major accounts from $5.8 million to $39.2 million in 2001. Directly involved in creating, negotiating and closing significant transactions.

Responsible for working with the senior leadership of utilities, IPPs and trading companies to devise comprehensive risk assessment and management plans.

Teamed cross functionally with Aquila leadership to develop and execute Aquila’s long-term strategy.

Promoted Aquila’s contingent risk and weather products through political advocacy and speaking engagements. Member Edison Electric Institute’s (EEI’s) policy committee on supply. Wrote articles on contingent risk.

Expanded Coral’s position in on-site generation and developed Coral’s Northeast power strategy.

Finalized an exclusive agreement between Coral and Allied Signal in 1998 which provided 3-50 MW turnkey cogeneration solutions for Coral’s industrial customers.

Directed all aspects of Catex Coral’s business. Specific responsibilities included sales, strategic alliances, gas management, supply, transportation, storage, customer asset optimization, client risk management, product design, pricing strategy, and staffing and organizational development. Expanded its business to include engineering services designed to upgrade customer utility infrastructure.

Established Catex Coral as one of the top twenty-five natural gas marketing companies. Established and expanded strategic relationships with the largest 140 local distribution companies, 100 pipelines and storage operators and 250 industrial and cogeneration companies in North America.

Developed an active gas management business, acting as agent for large industrials for procurement, risk management, transportation, balancing, administration and pipeline construction. Increased Catex Coral’s end use sales business from 10,000 MMBtu/day to in excess of 600,000 MMBtu/d from 1990 to 1996. Catex Coral’s end use customer base included 158 of the Fortune 500’s largest 200 gas consuming corporations.

Shell Trading Gas and Power formerly named Coral Energy L.P. purchased Vitol Gas and Electric’s end-use gas marketing division July 1, 1996.

Established a presence in the Eastern U.S. to maximize revenues from Texas positions.

Directed transportation and exchange efforts on 9 major interstate pipelines and 24 local distribution companies. Negotiated transportation agreements and managed pipeline imbalances.

Entered into significant term gas supply and market contracts, including a 10 yr. utility contract.

Traded a significant monthly book. Hired and trained two regional sales managers.

Identified potential gas gathering, storage and reserve acquisitions.

Gulf Energy Development Corporation, an affiliate of the Penn Central Corporation, was sold to Tejas Gas Corporation effective June 30, 1988.

Energy Planning, Inc., Houston, TX - Vice President, Co-owner, Member Board of Directors, Grew revenues from $150,000 per year to over $1.5 million per year in four years. Initiated, negotiated and finalized a joint venture with McGraw-Hill (DRI Energy) combining the company’s natural gas and personal computer software expertise with DRI’s national sales network.

Established and trained a joint 18 person sales force in six regional offices. Managed Ringwood Gas Gathering Company for Cross Timbers Oil Company, responsibilities included producer negotiations, gas sales and transportation agreements.

Speaker at industry conferences including Gas Daily, Energy West, and Gas Controller’s Association.

Developed and maintained thirty-two oil/gas accounts with profit and loss responsibility. Grew revenues from $700,000 to $1.8 million in one year. Developed econometric and behavioral models.

Delivered industry presentations, including the keynote speech at the Association of Oilwell Services Contractors annual convention in Denver, August 2, 1982.

Wrote articles for the DRI Drilling Review. Extensive use of energy and financial databases.
