Hydropower Projects
Symbiotics’ pumped storage projects replace on-peak carbon-based energy with on-peak hydroelectric energy. Able to release power on-demand, they create significant savings by making the energy grid highly responsive to fluctuating demand. This eliminates waste, improves grid efficiency and reduces the likelihood of brownouts. By helping local and regional communities avoid greater dependence on increased levels of fossil fuel consumption, our pumped storage projects save money, reduce green house emissions and enhance biotic capital. Our dam retrofitting projects have the same positive impacts as our pumped storage projects, though at a smaller scale and in a more distributed manner. Producing energy that is wholly renewable, they keep energy costs down, reduce green house emissions, and enhance the security of our national energy infrastructure by providing indigenously sourced, reliable energy. |
