Hydropower Projects Uniontown Lock and Dam Project Also known as the John T. Meyers Lock and Dam, Uniontown Lock and Dam is located on the Ohio River three miles downstream from the community of Uniontown, Kentucky. Construction began in 1965 and was completed in 1977 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE). Currently the dam provides improved in-stream navigation and recreation opportunities. In 2008, on behalf of Uniontown Hydro, LLC, Symbiotics, LLC, began State and Federal licensing for a run-of-river hydroelectric project on Uniontown Lock and Dam. Using two turbine/generator units, the proposed project would have installed capacity of 190 MW. (FERC #12958) |
