Hydropower Projects
In January of 2008, Symbiotics LLC began the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s Integrated Licensing Process by filing a Preliminary Application Document (PAD) for a run-of-river hydroelectric project on Wickiup Dam. The hydropower project has an installed capacity of 7.15 MW from one turbine/generator unit and on average will produce 21.15 gWh annually. Wickiup Dam is located on the Deschutes River in Deschutes County just west of La Pine, Oregon. The dam is owned by the Bureau of Reclamation and operated by the North Unit Irrigation District. The dam and reservoir are managed for the purposes of irrigation, recreation, fish and wildlife, and scenic resources.
